Login Requirements at a Glance

To access the TD Business Central portal, you need three things: a User ID provided during enrollment, a password of at least 12 characters with mixed case plus a number and special character, and a multi-factor authentication method (SMS code, email code, hardware token or mobile biometric). The platform supports the latest two versions of Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari. Internet Explorer is not supported. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled. Sessions time out after 15 minutes of inactivity by default. Mobile access is available through the TD business banking app on iOS and Android with biometric login support. If you are locked out after five failed attempts, wait 30 minutes or call 1-866-222-3456 for immediate recovery.

System Requirements for TD Business Central Access

Meeting these requirements ensures a secure, fully functional experience on the platform.

Operating System

TD Business Central runs on Windows 10 or later, macOS 12 (Monterey) or later, and current versions of ChromeOS. Linux distributions with up-to-date Chromium-based or Firefox browsers are also supported. The platform is browser-based — no desktop software installation is required.

Internet Connection

A stable broadband connection with minimum 5 Mbps download speed is recommended. The platform loads efficiently on standard connections, but large file uploads (bulk payment files, payroll batches) and report generation benefit from faster speeds. Avoid using public Wi-Fi networks for banking sessions. As recommended by the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, always use trusted, secured networks for financial transactions.

Screen Resolution

Minimum recommended resolution is 1280 x 720 pixels. The dashboard, report builder and payment interfaces are optimized for widescreen displays at 1920 x 1080 or higher. Tablet users should access the platform in landscape orientation for the best experience with data tables and multi-column layouts.

Step-by-Step Login Guide for TD Business Central

The complete authentication flow from opening your browser to reaching your personalized dashboard.

Step 1: Navigate to the Login Page

Open a supported browser and navigate to the TD Business Central login page. Bookmark this page for quick access. Always verify you are on the correct domain before entering credentials — check for the padlock icon in your browser's address bar confirming an active TLS 1.3 encrypted connection.

Step 2: Enter Your User ID

Enter the User ID assigned during your enrollment. This is not your email address. Your User ID was provided by your TD Commercial Banking advisor when your TD Business Central account was created. If you have misplaced your User ID, call 1-866-222-3456 for retrieval.

Step 3: Enter Your Password

Enter your password. It must be at least 12 characters long, contain uppercase and lowercase letters, at least one number and at least one special character. Passwords expire every 90 days. When prompted to reset, choose a password you have not used in the past 12 cycles. Ensure caps lock is off and you are typing on the correct keyboard layout.

Step 4: Complete MFA Verification

After entering correct credentials, you will be prompted for multi-factor authentication. Complete the challenge using your configured method: enter the SMS code sent to your phone, the email verification code, the time-based code from your hardware token, or confirm the biometric prompt on your mobile device. Codes expire within 5 minutes.

Step 5: Access Your Dashboard

Upon successful authentication, you land on your personalized TD Business Central dashboard. The dashboard displays account summaries, pending payment approvals, recent transaction activity and alerts. Your session remains active for 15 minutes of inactivity by default — administrators can configure this timeout per role.

First-Time Login

If this is your first time logging in, you will need the registration reference number provided by your TD Commercial Banking advisor. The system will prompt you to set your permanent password and configure your MFA method before accessing the dashboard. The entire first-time setup process takes approximately 10 minutes. As noted by OSFI, strong authentication setup is a foundational requirement for commercial banking access.

Browser Compatibility for TD Business Central

The platform is tested against the latest two major versions of each supported browser. Using an outdated browser may result in display issues, missing functionality or blocked access.

Supported Browsers

Google Chrome — latest two major versions. Recommended for best performance.
Mozilla Firefox — latest two major versions. Full feature parity with Chrome.
Microsoft Edge — latest two major versions. Chromium-based Edge only; legacy Edge is not supported.
Apple Safari — latest two major versions on macOS. iOS Safari is supported for mobile access.

Browser Settings Required

JavaScript: Must be enabled. The platform's interactive dashboards, payment forms and report builder require JavaScript to function.
Cookies: Must be enabled. Session management and MFA verification rely on secure cookies.
Pop-up Blocker: Allow pop-ups from the TD Business Central domain for payment confirmation windows and report downloads.
TLS: Your browser must support TLS 1.2 or higher (TLS 1.3 preferred).

Mobile Access to TD Business Central

Approve payments, check balances and review transactions from anywhere using the TD business banking mobile app.

iOS and Android App

The TD business banking app for iOS (version 15 or later) and Android (version 12 or later) provides mobile access to TD Business Central features. Log in with the same User ID and password used on desktop. Mobile-specific features include biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint), push notification approvals for wire transfers and payment batches, and quick-view account balances from the app's home screen.

The mobile app does not replace the full desktop platform. Report building, bulk file uploads and advanced user management are available only through the browser-based portal. Mobile is designed for approvals, monitoring and time-sensitive actions when you are away from your desk.

Mobile Security

Mobile sessions are encrypted with the same AES-256 and TLS 1.3 standards as desktop. The app does not store banking data locally on your device. Biometric authentication data (fingerprint, face scan) never leaves the device — the platform receives only a cryptographic confirmation that the check passed.

If your mobile device is lost or stolen, call 1-866-222-3456 immediately to deregister the device from your TD Business Central account. Remote device deregistration prevents anyone from using stored authentication tokens even if the device's lock screen is compromised. Learn more about platform security measures.
