Common Tasks and Quick Guides

Step-by-step instructions for the most frequently performed operations on the TD Business Central platform.

Reset Your Password

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your registered email or mobile number to receive a one-time verification code. Create a new password with at least 12 characters, mixed case, one number and one special character. The entire process takes under two minutes.

Add a New Payee

Navigate to Bill Payments, click "Add Payee" and search the registered Canadian payee directory. Enter the account number provided by your payee on their invoice. Once saved, the payee appears in your directory for one-time or recurring payments.

Submit a Bulk Payment File

Go to the Payments section and select "Bulk Upload." Upload a CPA-005 formatted file containing payment instructions. TD Business Central validates the file format, flags errors and displays a summary for review before submission. Dual authorization is required for batch totals exceeding your configured threshold.

Schedule an Automated Report

Open the Custom Reports builder. Configure your data fields, filters and date range. Click "Schedule" and choose delivery frequency: daily, weekly or monthly. Enter the recipient email addresses. Reports generate and deliver automatically at your selected time. According to OSFI guidelines, maintaining regular reporting supports financial compliance obligations.

Add or Remove a User

Account administrators can manage users in the User Management section. Click "Add User," enter their details and assign a role: viewer, initiator, approver or administrator. Set transaction limits and MFA requirements. To remove a user, select their profile and click "Deactivate." Access is revoked immediately.

Configure Account Alerts

Visit Account Alerts to set notifications for balance thresholds, large transactions, login activity, payment approvals and failed authentication attempts. Choose delivery by email, SMS or both. The Government of Canada recommends active monitoring as a financial best practice for businesses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Click "Forgot Password" on the TD Business Central login page. A one-time verification code will be sent to your registered email or mobile number. Enter that code, then create a new password meeting complexity requirements: minimum 12 characters, mixed case, at least one number and one special character. If you are locked out entirely, call 1-866-222-3456 for immediate credential recovery.

Wire transfers on TD Business Central may show pending status for several reasons: the transaction requires dual authorization from a second approver, the transfer was submitted after the 3:30 PM ET same-day cutoff, the beneficiary bank details need verification, or the amount exceeds your configured transaction limit. Check your notification inbox for any action items. If no approval is pending, contact support at 1-866-222-3456.

Navigate to the Data Export section from your dashboard. Select the date range, account(s) and transaction types to include. Choose your export format: CSV for spreadsheet analysis, BAI2 for bank reconciliation software, or PDF for formatted reports. You can also schedule automated exports on daily, weekly or monthly intervals delivered directly to your email.

Yes. TD Business Central supports multi-user access with role-based permissions. Account administrators can add users through the User Management section, assign specific roles (viewer, initiator, approver, administrator) and set transaction limits per user. Each user gets their own login credentials and multi-factor authentication. There is no limit to the number of users on an account.

Call the TD Business Central 24/7 fraud hotline immediately at 1-800-893-8319. Do not attempt to process any additional transactions. The fraud response team can freeze your account, reverse pending unauthorized transactions and initiate a forensic investigation. Change your password and MFA settings from a separate trusted device as soon as the account is secured.

Go to the Bill Payments section from your TD Business Central dashboard. Add a payee by searching the registered Canadian payee directory or entering payee details manually. Once the payee is saved, select "Schedule Recurring Payment," enter the amount, choose the frequency (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) and set the start date. You will receive confirmation alerts before each scheduled payment is processed.
